Radiation
The EPA protects the environment and health and safety of people from risks associated with ionising and non-ionising radiation. We regulate the use of ionising radiation in medical, research, industrial and mining organisations, including use of X-rays, and the safe use, transport, storage and disposal of radioactive substances.
ARPANSA provides information relating to non-ionising radiation safety including lasers, microwaves, powerlines, mobile phones and communication towers. You can also speak with an ARPANSA scientist from 11 am to 12.30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays (Melbourne AEST) at freecall 1800 022 333.
Structure
