Due to the critical need to protect the wetland and its endangered species, the EPA has provided specialised technical expertise to undertake urgent recovery work on behalf of TFI to ensure immediate action was undertaken to prevent catastrophic impact to the sensitive wetland environment.
Increasing production at Lobethal
TFI has advised the EPA that it plans on moving some operations to its Lobethal site. TFI will still be required to meet their environmental obligations, including obtaining process change approval under their EPA licence.
TFI will be required to meet environmental obligations through compliance with new stringent EPA Licence conditions. This includes the development of management plans, which will include measures to address the issues of noise and odour for EPA approval.
